Get ready to immerse yourself in a place where endless possibilities await.

Airports and Flights

Getting to South Lake Tahoe is a breeze. The closest major airport is Reno-Tahoe International Airport, which is located just under an hour away. Direct flights from major cities are available, making it easily accessible for travelers from around the world. Once you arrive, transportation options like car rentals and shuttle services are readily available to take you to your destination.

Shuttle Services

Shuttle service to South Lake Tahoe is available via the South Tahoe Airporter. Charter Busses are also available from Amador Stage Lines.

Car Rentals and Public Transportation Options

The Reno-Tahoe International Airport has a fantastic selection of car rental options that'll have you cruising to South Lake Tahoe in no time. From popular rental companies, like Alamo, Avis, and Enterprise, to local providers, you'll find a range of vehicles to suit your needs whether you’re traveling solo or with a group.

South Shore visitors and residents are getting a new way to get around with the launch of Lake Link, a micro-transit shuttle system. The service will offer free rides in a zone that includes the casino corridor in Stateline, Nv., and Al Tahoe Boulevard and Pioneer Trail in South Lake Tahoe, CA. The on-demand system will be accessed and scheduled through the Lake Link app, and operate 365 days per year 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in summer and winter. Funding for the shuttles is a collaboration of public and private partnerships. (www.tahoelakelink.com)

The shuttles carry 9-12 passengers and are equipped with bike and ski racks for the transportation of gear while riders are allowed to bring anything that can fit underneath the seat or in their lap. The fleet includes wheelchair-accessible shuttles and riders can indicate on the app if they need accommodations. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult to ride. Only service animals are allowed on the vehicles.

When it comes to things to do in South Lake Tahoe, you can shred down the mountain from 10,067 ft. at Heavenly Mountain Resort’s peak or you can dive into the depths of Lake Tahoe. It’s more than 1600 ft. deep, making it one of the deepest lakes in North America. Needless to say, there are plenty of things to do in Lake Tahoe above and below the surface. Dig into all that Lake Tahoe's South Shore has to offer. Natural scenery coupled with non-stop nightlife. Big-name entertainment on the edge of sandy beaches. That's just the beginning of things to do in Lake Tahoe.
